Founded by two friends, Jules-Louis Audemars, and Edward-Auguste Piguet, in Le Brassus in 1875, Audemars Piguet is best known for iconic models such as the Royal Oak, inspired by a battleship from 1862. Designed by Gérald Genta, the Royal Oak saved the company from the Great Depression and was the genesis of the modern sports watch.
